Sony BMG releases Sawaariyan Music

MUMBAI: SPE Films India and SLB Films in alliance with Sony BMG released the music of Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Saawariya` on 16 September 2007.

The film`s music is composed by Monty Sharma, who had done the background score for Black and Devdas, Bhansali`s earlier films. The debutant actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were also introduced at the event by Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, "For Saawariya I needed two young newcomers and I got them in Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. I have a debutant music director Monty, he has spent more than two years composing and perfecting the 10 songs for Saawariya".

Saawariya is also introducing two new singers in the movie - Shail and Parthiv. The songs of Saawariya are neither purely western nor classical Indian - but a fusion of both.

Sony Pictures` first Indian co-production "Saawariya" is a unique collaboration with one of India`s most well known and acclaimed directors, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. President of Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, Deborah Schindler and Vice chairman Gareth Wigan said, "This historic co-production encourages the integration of two of the world`s biggest and dynamic film production communities and offered an excellent opportunity for the enormous talent in India to interact with a premiere Hollywood studio."
