Sona Mohapatra releases new single 'Diljale'
MUMBAI: Indi-pop singer Sona Mohapatra is all set to release her new single �Diljale' from her new album �Raat/Din'.
The video of the track has been shot in the streets of New York and represents the night soundscape of her forthcoming album �Raat/Din', the songs of night and day which are loosely woven around the timings of Hindustani ragas. The song thematically depicts night.
The new single will be released on 1st September which will be followed by �Paas Aao Na'. The entire album though will be released by the year end under the music label �Mint Music'. Sona says, It is the age of digital age music where people prefer listening to one single which suits their musical taste buds rather than listening to an entire album which they may not like. Also, since Bollywood predominates the music scenario and the music labels do not have enough monetary resources for a non-film album we have to find new ways to promote it....
The single is also promoted by Nokia Worldwide which will release the track along with its flagship product Nokia Music Store to be launched soon in India.
Sona along with Kailash Kher are the two artistes to be featured by television channel National Geographic in a World Music series called 'The Music Nomad' as independent artistes from India whose music embodies the essence of the country in the new age. This series is slated to go on air across several networks in November. It was a great honour to be profiled as one of the two artistes from the country whose music is attached to their roots....
