MUMBAI: Sirius XM Radio, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, has plans to offer its subscription radio service to Apple's iPhone and iPod touch sometime in spring.

Sirius will be able to provide its subscribers access to streaming content including music, sports and talk channels to users of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

In a bid to steep up its sales, the company has a number of initiatives to make its content available everywhere. Sirius is examining opportunities to bundle its satellite radio service with TV packages from DirecTV Group. Last month, DirecTV's controlling shareholder Liberty Media Corp saved Sirius from debt by investing $530 million.

Also, Sirius is looking at catering to consumers directly. Since, the number of new car purchases is dipping, the radio company is making efforts to reach people who buy used cars with factory installed satellite radios.
