Singer Phoebe Snow no more

MUMBAI: Grammy nominated singer Phoebe Snow, 60, famous for her 1970s folk hit "Poetry Man" has died of a brain hemorrhage.

The American singer's major accomplishments include her performance for President Bill Clinton in 1999 and when she sang at Howard Stern's wedding to Beth Ostrosky in 2008.

Snow put her music career on hold for many years to care for he daughter Valerie who was born in 1975 with severe brain damage, reports tmz.com.

It was only due to Phoebe's immense care that Valerie lived to be 31 when she was not expected to live past her toddler years.

A private funeral will be held for Phoebe in next few days.
