Shemaroo`s piracy raid nets goods worth Rs 10 mn

MUMBAI: Shemaroo`s anti piracy unit recently raided two shops and a godown in Kalyan and seized 70,000 DVDs/ VCDs worth Rs 1.05 crore (Rs 10.5 million).

According to the company, this is one of the biggest raid ever that Shemaroo Entertainment has conducted. The shops were located at Junjaru Market at Kalyan, a satellite township near Mumbai.

New releases like `Om Shanti Om`, `Saawariya`, `Bhool Bhulaiya`and `Bal Ganesh` were among those confiscated from the site.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of Gnanchand Maroo - who heads the anti piracy team at Shemaroo Entertainment and a team of eight police officers.
