MUMBAI: Celebrating 73rd birth anniversary of music genius RD Burman ((Pancham Da), Shemaroo has released three titles Pancham Unmixed, 101 R D Burman Hits and Sargam Ke Saathi.
Pancham Unmixed is a collectors pack inclusive of a feature length film on Burman, Pancham Magic – a compilation of his songs and a Coffee Table Book titled ‘Strings of Eternity’. Pancham Unmixed – the film has attempted to explore Burman’s music taking an incisive look into the composer's reflective artistry, but also lonely inner being. Featuring a host of Pancham Da’s close friends, colleagues and admirers like - Asha Bhosle, Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Manna Dey, Shammi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor among others - Pancham Unmixed is the only film made on the great composer till date.
The song compilation DVD ‘Pancham Magic’ has 30 timeless original video songs composed by Pancham Da while the special coffee table book has some enchanting anecdotes, insights, emotions and rare photographs of the legend.
101 RD Burman Hits, part of 101 series captures different moods of the maestro. The songs in the pack ranges from romantic melodies to his sizzling hits like ‘Piya tu ab to aaja….’ ‘Bacha ke Rehna Re Baba..’, ‘Aati Rahengi Baharen..’, ‘Jaane Jaan Dhoondhta Phir Raha…’
