Shaan sings a different tune with new rock single

MUMBAI: With the recent musical success of ‘Teri Meri Kahani,’ ‘Ferrari ki Sawaari’ and collaborative album ‘Love is in the air’, renowned Bollywood singer Shaan is now all set to release his self-made single ‘Khudgarzi’.

The club-rock single along with a video will be released on Eros International by next week. Speaking about the single Shaan said, “It is a club song and I have added some peppy rock sound to it. It was amazing to work with my friends on this single. It’s a fun filled track and the video depicts the flavour of the song.”

The melodious singer has recently recorded ‘Keh do abhi’, a romantic duet with Rekha Bhardwaj for an upcoming Bengali movie ‘Doshomi’. Composed by Debarpito Saha, the bilingual song stars Koel Mallick and Indraneil Sengupta. The film also features vocals by Akriti Kakar of ‘Paglu’ fame and Rupankar.

“It always feels great to collaborate with Rekhaji, she is a fabulous singer and has a very soothing voice. I feel honoured to sing with her for the movie,” Shaan added.

The singer is juggling many hats at the moment. Apart from promoting his recently released collaborative album ‘Love is in the Air’ with AlkaYagnik and Babul Supriyo, he is also a brand ambassador for an anti-tobacco campaign. He is actively promoting the drive through various initiatives.

Shaan feels that the portrayal of alcohol and smoking as a life style is inappropriate and should be discouraged. “I think the movie-makers should be more responsible and avoid drinking and smoking in movies. Now-a-days, there are songs which are based on alcohol which promoted alcohol as part of life style, very easy and friendly. Every other scene today has someone having shots and enjoying."

Earlier, the popular singer had composed a music video 'Life Se panga mat le yaar' to discourage youngsters from smoking. The 4-minute long video was played on all the music channels.

He is also judging and mentoring the contestants of ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar 2’ along with Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire. “The singers of this season are very talented; it’s really hard to single out any of them. They all have their own strong point; it’s really tough for us to select who is the best,” he stated.

The season two of the singing reality show is heading towards its finale which is schedule to take place by next month.
