Shaan enters Malayalam music industry

MUMBAI: After rendering tracks in various regional languages, versatile singer Shaan is extending his reach to Malayalam music industry. For the first time, the renowned singer has rendered for Mollywood flick ‘Son of Alexander’ - sequel to the yesteryear hit movie ‘Samrajyam’.

Shaan will sing few tracks for the movie including an introductory number which is said to be quite peppy and full of attitude. Penned by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma, the music is scored by debutant Shafeer and the songs will be released by the end of this month.

Sharing his experience with Radioandmusic.com, Shaan said, “Singing in Malayali was something new to me and initially I thought it would be difficult but the recording went smooth and everything fell in place. I had sung in all South Indian languages except Malayalam and I hope that my singing will be received well by the audience. The introductory number for the Malayalam flick directed by Perarasu is quite lively and resembles Bollywood music to some extent.”

The singer is quiet popular in the South Indian film industry, he has sung in several Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. With his foray into Mollywood, the singer is looking forward to accept new offers and expand in the Malayalam music industry.
