MUMBAI: Saregama is all set to rejuvenate the golden era of Bollywood music with a unique orchestral property titled ‘The Bollywood Musical’. The label has collaborated with talented music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman for re-creating the biggest classics.

The musical property themed as ‘Reinterpreting the Biggest hit of Cinema Symphonically’ will represent the work of over 30 tracks from Saregama’s repertoire which includes top hits of Indian Cinema during 60-70's. The evergreen melodies of Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, RD Burman, Kishore Da, Shankar Jai Kishan, Lakshmikant Pyarelal and others will be rendered by renowned bollywood singers of today's generation.

‘Salim- Sulaiman’ will be accompanied by over 28 instrumentalists, eight vocalists, chorus, state-of-the-art production to embark upon a musical journey with the best melodies of Indian Film Music. Spearheaded by composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, the orchestral and contemporary fusion concert will be hosted at historical places of India and abroad from October 2012.

Speaking about the property, Salim-Sulaiman said, “We always wanted to come up with an offering that would represent the music of Indian cinema and Saregama had a similar concept. Our only aim through this show, is to represent the golden era of Indian music in our way for the young generation. This ongoing property is something that no one has witnessed before ,it’s a massive production with huge setup, best lightning and sounds. It’s an acoustic and contemporary representation of all the classics which has never been done before in Indian cinema and music. It is amazing contribution that we can give back to our industry.”

Commenting about the property Saregama India business head-music Adarsh Gupta said, “Saregama had a dream from last year to utilize the huge repertoire of record in a unique way.  We will put forth our sincere effort to match up to the level of expectation which has been built through this property.”

The label has undertaken a 360 degree promotional and marketing approach for the property. It will be marketed through various mediums including Radio, OOH, internet, social media, print and television. The unique compositions played in the concert will also be released on Saregama and broadcasted through the television channel.
