MUMBAI: Saregama India has launched'Shafaq Ke Rang'Colours of Sunset'a newly recorded album of Urdu ghazals, penned by contemporary Indian writer Indira Varma.
The album has ten titles, which include eight ghazals, five of which are sung by Sudeep Banerjee, three by Rekha Bharadwaj and two nazm recitations by Varma herself..
The album has been composed by Sudeep Banerjee and recorded at Vishal Bharadwaj's Studio Satya, Mumbai by Salman Khan Afridi. Chintu Singh has played the guitars and rabab for this album, while sarangi, santoor and sitar is played by Dilshad Khan, Rohan and Umashankar Shukla respectively, supported by Biswajit Roy at the Keyboards Programming section. Amit Chaubey and Ashish Kha have played the tablas.
The album contains a booklet of printed Urdu lyrics in Roman script with their English translations.
