Saregama to launch Vishakha Hari's Srinivasa Kalyanam

BANGALORE: Harikatha artist Vishakha Hari is back with a new discourse on the much loved story of Srinivasa's Kalyanam with Padmavathi. The DVD will be released on the last day of 2010 by Vishakha Hari at Brahma Gaana Sabha at 6 pm with a small prayer. The first copy was offered to Lord Vinayaka.

Srinivas Kalyanam is the story of how Lord Srinivasa / Balaji came to marry Princess Padmavathy, daughter of Akasa Raja, and begins with the story of Lord Srinivasa Himself. It is told by Vishaka Hari, combining words, music and lyrics to create an evocative experience for the viewer.

Adarsh Gupta, Head of Music -- Saregama India Ltd, said, Saregama has had a  long-standing presence in the Classical and Devotional genres – be it Hindustani or Carnatic -- with the most loved artists associated with us for many decades. We hope to continue keeping their faith and look forward to including into our family powerful talent like Vishakha Hari's. We are proud to begin this new association with her, and look forward to a long happy relationship of telling popular stories in a beautiful way. ...
