Saadhak crowned winner of 'MTV Rock On'

MUMBAI: After months of battling it out, band Saadhak was crowned winner of MTV Kurkure Rock On at the finale held in Mumbai on Monday evening.

Khilagh and Dhairya were the other two bands which made it to the finals.

The finale saw live performances by the three bands where they had to spin original tracks to win the title. Joining them were Euphoria- the band and singer Sona Mohapatra who enthralled the audience 

The band members of Saadhak include Willi on vocals, Naitik on percussions, Raj on bass, Tonmoy on drums, Sachin G on violin and Nirdosh on guitars.

â€?Kurkure Desi Beats Rock On with MTV' began in July this year with 50 talented Desi rockers who were auditioned in four cities of Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. They were then randomly organised into 10 bands three of which reached the finale. Kailash Kher, Ram Sampath, and MTV VJ Nikhil Chinapa were the judges for the band hunt which was looking for a new music Gharana- Desi Rock 

The show finale will be telecast on MTV on 21 November at 7 pm. The grand prize of the contest includes an album deal with India's leading record label, T-Series, a music video produced by MTV, plus a mega concert besides state of the art instrument set.
