MUMBAI: International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards has announced the nomination for its 13th edition scheduled to be held from 7-9 June in Singapore. Rockstar and Bodyguard are leading the music nomination with four nods each. Rockstar has bagged nominations for Best Music Director (AR Rahman), Best Lyrics (Irshad Kamil- Naadan Parindey), Playback Singer Male (Mohit Chauhan - Naadan Parindey) and Playback Singer Female (Harshdeep Kaur – Katiya Karun). While, Bodyguard has received two for Playback Singer Male (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan – Teri Meri) and (Ash King – I Love You), Best Lyrics (Shabbir Ahmed – Teri Meri) and Playback Singer Female (Shreya Ghoshal – Teri Meri). The nominees were announced following the industry voting at the IIFA held in March. The results were audited by PriceWaterhouse Coopers, the auditing firm for the IIFA’s and the Oscars. The online voting for the awards was opened to audiences from across the world on 3 May. Wizcraft International Entertainment director Wiz Sabbas Joseph said, “We at IIFA take pride in announcing the nominees for IIFA Awards 2012 which celebrate the best work done by the Indian Film Industry over the last year. We are thoroughly pleased with the nominees, a result of the film industry’s secret ballot and we hope the audience will make a worthy choice in deciding the winners of this year’s IIFA accolades.” The Videocon IIFA Weekend will celebrate the excellence of Indian film industry featuring a line-up of events like IIFA World Premiere and IIFA Rocks. The awards will be broadcast globally on Star Plus.
