RnM launches 'Leadership'

Editorial:

We are in the process of developing RadioAndMusic.com as a serious, specialist website for Radio and Music, and are primarily addressing professionals from the Radio and Music industries in India and internationally, along with marketers, advertisers, clients and media buyers and planners plus all other kinds of related agencies, bodies and associations across the space.

We wish to ensure that RnM, as we refer to it in short, is an impartial, proactive aggregator and disseminator of professional information that would be of interest to and would benefit all current and aspiring professionals in the B2B space across Media & Entertainment, Marketing and Advertising.

Feedback from numerous conversations with company and section leaders and aspiring young professionals alike, tells us that they are looking for a serious B2B website that will offer a deep dive of news, information, trends, reportage, analysis, discussions and explorations of issues, challenges and achievements across the board

Everyone wants a deep dive.

The younger professionals look for learnings from industry thought leaders across all areas of leadership, strategy, and operations. To facilitate this, as also to highlight important aspects affecting the industry, RadioAndMusic.com is starting a series entitled, simply, LEADERSHIP', which will feature an in-depth interview with a reputed professional.

We begin our LEADERSHIP series with a freewheeling chat with a young veteran - Prashant Panday, Executive Director of ENIL & CEO Radio Mirchi, the nation's most successful private FM network, who, in a chat with Pavan R Chawla, believes the Radio in India can hit a market share of 9 to 10% by the end of Phase III and believes that Radio is now the near-default second medium in national media plans. Panday believes Radio needs to think big for the betterment of the industry, and suggests that the top 10 Radio Networks should help RAM with a voluntary corpus to help the Radio Industry through more cities on the RAM grid. He also believes that the Radio Industry must collectively begin charging Film producers for the invaluable marketing services it provides new releases. Excerpts from the conversation.

Each week, we will bring you interactions with other stalwarts. Do send us your comments and suggestions to pavanrchawla@indiantelevision.co.in.

Thank you for your support.
