RJ Dheena moulds NextGen Radio professionals

MUMBAI: To inculcate knowledge and skills to those who seek a career in radio, RJ Dheena along with few of the finest minds in the media industry have initiated ‘Academy Of Radio Studies’ (AORS) in Chennai.

AORS offers a three month Diploma in Radio Programming with specialization in two of the available three (RJ, content producer and promo producer). As the  academy believes in “radio teaches radio” they have faculty who are into the field and are unambiguously passionate about what they do.

RJ Dheena said, “I learnt radio through experience and definitely not in a school, this rang a bell in me and as a result, we at AORS ensure that every end user is benefitted from stem to stem through the course”.

Students are given experiential learning environment where the focus is on learning-by-doing and the academy will offer placement assistance program to students. Apparently, business end of radio such as research and understanding client needs are also included in the course with the core areas such as cultivating conversational skills, engaging listeners and celebs, conducting live shows .

Adding to this Dheena said, “We want our students to understand the micro and macro picture of any radio station they may venture in which will help them to adapt accordingly, as we don’t look at their survival but actually excelling in their career.”
