Rihanna surpasses Madonna to log 8th #1 single on Hot 100

MUMBAI: Rihanna has clinched a rare Billboard Hot 100 chart achievement, as What's My Name... has taken a huge, 59-point leap straight to the top, from #60 last week, with Only Girl (In the World)... ranked at #4. Both tracks have set the stage for Rihanna's upcoming fourth studio album, Loud arriving November 16th on Def Jam Recordings.

Rihanna's Top 5 duo of What's My Name... and Only Girl (In the World)... puts her amonst elite acts who have managed the same feat

"Rihanna is a true original, a gifted hitmaker, with a style and a musical flair all her own,... said L.A. Reid, who executive-produced Loud with Rihanna. I am especially proud of this project (Loud) , as I feel it perhaps best captures the spirit and essence of Rihanna....

Anticipation for Loud's release is high. Fans sent Tweet- or Facebook posts via www.rihannanow.com/getloud for entry into the get loud to hear Loud... exclusive album stream event – and in the first 48 hours,  the album received 400,000 listens  Additionally, the Loud-est Fan Sweepstakes, urging fans to upload their photos for entry and a chance to meet Rihanna, has received over 1.3 million views in less than two weeks since its launch

A limited availability autographed couture edition of Loud has been designed for the ultimate fan  The package will include a deluxe autographed art lithograph, with enhanced clear couture cover containing the deluxe Loud CD plus the Making of Loud... What's My Name... is Rihanna's 8th #1 on the Hot 100, and widens her dominance of the chart – earlier this year, she became the first female artist of the past decade to chart six #1's on the Hot 100 when Rude Boy... went to the top  And last week, Only Girl (In the World)... became Rihanna's 8th single to hit #1 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart, eclipsing Madonna's long-standing record of seven #1's on the Dance chart (launched in 2003).
