Red FM takes talent hunt route with 'Champion Batteesi'

MUMBAI: After singing reality shows and RJ hunts, it’s now time for comedy talent hunt shows on radio. Red FM has announced ‘Champion Batteesi’- a reality comedy show based on lingual preference across cities.

Named as ‘Comedy King’ in Gujarat, ‘Champion Batteesi’ in the Hindi speaking belt and ‘Gudguliya’ in Maharashtra, the show will showcase the comic talent of listeners. The winner will get the title of ‘Comedy King’ or ‘Champion Batteesi’ along with a chance to host a show on Red FM. The winner will be selected by RJs of the respective cities and the internal team of the station.

Commenting on this initiative, 93.5 Red FM senior VP – programming & projects Nisha Narayanan said, “There is a plethora of talent in our country besides the metros too and this is a brilliant opportunity for listeners in smaller towns to showcase it without any lingual barriers. Infact the biggest stand up comedians in India are from small towns, which only goes to show the abundance of talent in these towns. Comedy as content works extremely well on radio and we are happy to provide a platform to the local talent in each city to showcase the same on Red FM.”
