Red FM is radio partner for Global Indian Music Awards

New Delhi: Based on the inspiring thought of music being the universal language, the first ever edition of the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GiMA) has been formulated to recognize and acknowledge Indian music and musicians.
Red FM will execute the mandate of being the official radio partner at this prestigious event and will power the Chevrolet GiMA �Most Popular Song on Red FM' award.

Listeners of Red FM across the country were given the chance to vote for the most popular Bollywood song. The winner of this category is being chosen via a public voting system inviting participation from the Red FM listeners. The five songs in running for the award are �All is well- (3 Idiots); �Dhan ta na' (Kaminey); �Tera Hone Lagaa Hoon' (Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani) and �Tere Naina' (My Name is Khan). Listeners were asked to send their votes via SMS to 58558 or log on to www.gima.co.in to cast their votes. Voting ended on 30 October. These votes will be audited by Ernst & Young. Select Red FM listeners also get the chance to witness the award ceremony live.

Chevrolet GiMA is all set to honor and applaud talent across film and non-film music with the vision of giving different music genres the same platform, importance and recognition. In its efforts to bring the entire Indian music industry together, GiMA will operate under the guidance of its Advisory Board encompassing stalwarts from the music & film industry such as Vijay Lazarus, Bhushan Kumar, Dr. L. Subramanium, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Prasoon Joshi, Pritam, Karan Johar, Mukesh Bhatt, Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Shekhar, Leslie Lewis, Talat Aziz, Usha Uthup, Resul Pookutty, Sulaiman Merchant, Kumar Taurani, Apurv Nagpal and Atul Churamani, amongst others. The jury is further divided into a film, technical and non-film jury.

An initiative of Wizcraft International Entertainment, Chevrolet GiMA has been instituted with the support of IMI, T-Series, MCAI and other key constituents of the music industry. The inaugural edition of the Awards will be presented at an exclusive ceremony on 10 November in Mumbai.
