Red FM Bengaluru turns Hindi Station

MUMBAI:   With stiff competition in the market, Red FM is constantly innovating to stand apart from the herd. Giving tough competition to fellow radio broadcasters, Red FM has transformed into a ‘Superhits 24x7 Hindi Radio Station’ in Bengaluru from 28 November.

With its new offering, just ahead of the festive season, the station aims to be more popular across the metropolitan audiences and at the same time break through the clutter of homogenous sounding Kannada radio stations in Bengaluru. The station claims that the city's rich sense of tradition and the fact that some of the best Hindi music has roots in Bengaluru helped them reach this decision to be different.

Commenting on the initiative, Red FM senior VP - projects & programming Nisha Narayanan said, “We are always in constant touch with the needs of our listeners, simultaneously tracking the music charts, and we have concluded that the choice of music is moving more towards bollywood, and moreover the listeners prefer to listen to Superhits all the time, and Red FM is going to cater to this emerging need gap in the city. We will continue to retain the Bajaate Raho attitude of the brand which gives an edge to our content and makes our Jocks to cut through the listeners across the SECs or Demographics.”

Red FM poised to be the biggest celebration of music, promises to be packed with new RJs, music and a completely new identity.

Earlier this month, major FM broadcasters in Bengaluru were served notice from the Karnataka Audio and Video Owners' Association (KAVOA) and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce for flouting rules by not promoting music in local language.

Besides Red FM, Radio One, Fever FM and FM Rainbow has Hindi play in Bengaluru.
