Raj Gopal Iyer exits Radio One

MUMBAI: Radio One station head west Raj Gopal Iyer has quit Radio One after being associated with the station for one year.

Iyer plans to set up his own consulting firm, Blue Ocean Consulting, which will work in areas of manpower search and training of professional focusing on meida and entertainment business.

Confirming the move, Iyer says, I have been in the media industry for many years and wanted to start a new venture on my own. Blue Ocean Consulting would help the media companies in finding the right talent as also motivating them. We aim at catering to specific requirements of an organisation and would also employ experts to opine on various subjects....

Iyer had put in his papers about a month ago and is currently serving his notice period with the organisation till March-end. It was a great opportunity to be associated with Radio one but now I want to give back to the industry what I received for 15 years....

When Radioandmusic.com contacted Radio One MD Vineet Singh Hukmani, he declined to comment on Iyer's exit.

Raj Gopal Iyer has been associated with Radio One from May 2008. His last stint was with Big FM where he was heading their NTR business. Prior to that, Iyer has been associated with companies such as Sony Entertainment Television, Start TV, Jadoo Works, Times OOH Media and Percept Picture Company.
