Rahman on musical tour after 20 years

MUMBAI: After two decades, maestro AR Rahman has come up with his Indian road tour. On this month long expedition, Oscar winning composer will cover cities like Kolkata (Salt Lake Stadium), Visakhapatnam (Indira Priyadarshni Cricket Stadium), Jaipur (Bhawani Niketan Education Trust) and Ahmedabad (Sardar Patel Stadium) in October 2013.

Techfront managing director and RahmanIshq promoter MS Muralidharan said, “The Indian entertainment industry is simply remarkable. Over the decades it has produced entertainers who have evolved to become global superstars. As one of the front runners in the technology sector, we are ecstatic to be hosting one of the greatest artists in the creative industry.  RahmanIshq is a strategic endeavor to bring international standards across all production platforms and showcase next generation technology for entertainment events worldwide."

The tour will showcase the technological progression of the music industry through a modern interactive presentation featuring high voltage music in its’ purest form. As part of this tour, the Oscar award winner will be travelling to Sydney to put up an exhilarating performance at the All Phones Arena on 24 August 2013. This is the very first time in the last two decades that he will be embarking on a road tour of this stature.

AR Rahman said, “Music for me is an expression of unconditional and unlimited love. I find joy in the smallest of pleasures which I share with the world through my music. Music is the language of the souls and what cannot be put into words can be expressed through music. I would like to take this opportunity to give back to my fans what they gave me. We hope that this will mark a new beginning for many more such tours that will benchmark the music industry”

Tickets for India will go live from 15 August 2013 on Independence Day. The Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist with his ensemble of singers will be performing his all-time classics of landmark Indian films like Jodhaa Akbar, Slumdog Millionaire, Lagaan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Dil Se, Rang De Basanti, Rockstar and Bombay. AR Rahman captivating music has not only redefined contemporary Indian music but also transcends boundaries. Other artists include Sukhwinder Singh, Javed Ali, Neeti Muhan, Shweta Pandit, Harshdeep Kaur, Vijay Prakash, Mano, Ranjit Barot will also be accompanying the stalwart on this tour.

Tickets for India will go live from Independence Day.
