MUMBAI: After myriads of hits in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, Mozart of Madras AR Rahman is making his debut in Kannada films with ‘Godfather’, remake of  Tamil blockbuster ‘Varalaaru’.

The music album of the film comprises of two original tracks and five rehashed versions of his Tamil hits. Rahman has charged a minimal fee of Rs 15 million for studio, artists, instruments, recording and re-recording of the film. The music of the film was recently launched by Rahman in Bangalore.

Speaking at the launch, Rahman said that he always wanted to compose music for Kannada films and his aspiration to score music in Sandalwood has been fulfilled through ‘God Father.’ The composer is also looking forward to render songs in  Kannada.

Vijayaprakash, Shwetha Mohan, Naresh Iyer performed live while actors Upendra,Ambarish, Ramesh Aravind, Sumalatha, Dwarakish, Hamsalekha, Jayamala, film producer Manju and director Sethu Sriram were present at the audio launch.
