Radio Whiskey goes on-air with test signals

MUMBAI: Already grabbing eyeballs with its unique initiatives and music policy, online radio station Radio Whiskey has been launched with test signals to gauge responses and listenership it achieves.

The station is currently playing exclusive, original music of independent artistes from across India, Pakistan, UAE and USA. With no programming schedules in place yet, the channel is only airing music and the station’s jingles throughout the day. The channel can also be heard using IE, Chrome, Safari, iPhone and iPad.

After each track is played, the station jingle is aired with its tagline ‘Nasha Music ka’. There are a few technical hitches on the way but it can be considered as the channel is still in its testing phase.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Radio Whiskey co-founder Madhukar Pandey said, “We are glad to announce that Radio Whiskey has gone on-air with test signals showcasing sample music. We are currently playing only fresh, original, unheard and exclusive music from independent artistes from across India, Pakistan, UAE and USA. We are awaiting people’s feedback on the music selection and station jingle and accordingly it will help us plan our next move. Since we are only on with test signals right now, there might be some technical issues during the listening process. But we aim to improvise and progress as we move ahead.”

A number of bands and artistes have shown interest in being featured on the site. With the music industry having responded more than favourably to the initiative of playing exclusive independent music on the channel, it will be worth the wait to witness the response being achieved by the channel in the long run.
