Radio stations advtg on TV dips in Jan-Jul 09

MUMBAI: Radio station promotions on television  saw a decline of 58 per cent during January and July '09 compared to January and July '08, according to an AdEx India analysis.

Sun Network Ltd which runs the SFM network of radio stations, led the sector
followed by Adlabs Radio, HT Music and Entertainment, Mid-day Multimedia and Music Broadcast  87 per cent share contributed by the top five advertisers of radio stations on TV during Jan-Jul '09.

Sun Network led  with 48 per cent share in promotion of radio stations on TV followed by 'Adlabs Radio Pvt Ltd' and 'HT Music & Entertainment' with 16 per cent and 10 per cent share respectively during Jan-Jul '09.

Much of the advertising of radio stations happened on regional television channels as opposed to national channels and was in the ratio of 68:32 during Jan-Jul'09.

Top three states that cornered most of the advertising from radio stations were Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh which contributed maximum that is a 91 per cent share in overall radio stations advertising on TV during Jan-Jul '09.
