Radio station promos on TV drop in '08

MUMBAI: There has been a 21 per cent drop in radio channel promotion on televisioná during January - October 2008, as compared to January - October 2007.

Living Media India topped in radio channel promotions on TV during January - October 2008, with its Meow FM being promoted aggressively across all mediums. Fever 104 FM, HT Media's radio station was advertised maximum on TV during January - October 2008.

Overall, however, radio stations' promotions registered a 21 per cent drop, according to Adex India analysis.

During the period from January - October 2008, 88 per cent of radio stations promotion was on regional channels, while a mere 12 per cent was on national channels. Delhi accounted for 42 per cent share of overall ad volumes of radio channel promotions on TV, followed by Kerala and West Bengal with 30 per cent and 12 per cent share respectively during January - October 2008.

Living Media India Ltd, HT Music & Entertainment Co Ltd and Asianet Network were the top three advertisers for radio channel promotion on TV during January - October 2008. The top five advertisers' share aggregates to 90 per cent of overall ad volumes of radio channel promotions on TV during January - October 2008, the study notes.

Top three new Radio stations - Fever 104 FM, 94.3 Club FM and All India Radio-Lucknow were advertised on TV during January - October 2008.
