Radio One Mumbai hires former AIR RJ Mihir Joshi

MUMBAI: RJ Mihir Joshi, who hosted morning shows for All India Radio's Rainbow FM has joined Radio One, Mumbai.

Speaking to Radioandmusic.com about his move, he says, The fact that AIR gave me the liberty to play music really encouraged me to take up hosting radio shows. I worked with AIR for five years, but now it's time to move on. My association with AIR was great and I have left it with a very positive feeling,... he adds.

On Radio One, Joshi will be hosting a show called The Midnight Shift' for six days a week between midnight and 1 am, starting 8 June 2009. Till the T20 world cup gets over, I'll be on air from midnight till the end of the match,... he said. Joshi would also be giving Cricket Updates from 10 pm during the T20 series.

Joshi agrees that shifting from AIR to an FM station is different, It's going to be a little different, I won't have as much freedom, I will also have to think what works, and of course, the commercial aspect of it – but for me, it's still the joy of connecting with the people and I am looking forward to this experience....

Mihir Joshi will playing a mix of retro and rock music on the midnight show.
