Radio One gets anthem by SEL; plans new show

MUMBAI: Continuing with its endeavor to pump more music, Radio One has announced the launch of a new property called �Play Your Music Day'. The musical trio of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, who are also the brand ambassadors have composed a new theme song for the station.

The show which will air from 23 July at 8pm-9pm will chose a total of 1000 listeners across seven cities from month on month to come to the station and play their favourite songs in the one hour show. The trio of SEL will be the first to play 13 songs live and unplugged for the listeners.

The chosen listeners who come to the station will have the opportunity to share the music space with movie stars, cricketers and famous musicians, all of whom will also play their favourite music. The station will also host contests, where the lucky listeners will get to win prizes.

The new anthem 'Aao Apna Gaana Bajao, Come and play your song' composed and performed by the trio invites the listeners to the station. The anthem song captures the essence that every person has a favourite song; something they dance to, dream to, wake up with, something that defines them. This is their chance to reveal themselves to the world through the songs they love,... added SEL.

Talking about the new initiative Radio One MD Vineet Singh Hukmani said, This is what a specialist does versus a generalist. We will continue to break new ground in the music space on air and off air and involve listeners and artists at a scale that has never been achieved before in the music broadcast space in India. Everyone at Radio One feels passionate towards music; many who work here are talented musicians themselves, unlike other stations where the connect with music is a very distant and superficial one. We also don't �discriminate' between film and non film music. Good music is good music!...

We have a multimedia campaign breaking soon to promote �Play Your Music Day' which uses television to bring about the natural chemistry of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy at the radio station, as they discover the unique music strengths of Radio One.
