Radio One Bangalore announces musical game show

MUMBAI: After a recent shift in its format and programming, Radio One is fighting hard to stand apart from the herd. Taking forward the initiative to involve listeners with differentiated content, Radio One Bangalore has announced a game show to test the musical quotient of its listeners.

Titled ‘Bollywood Bingo’, the show hosted by MJ Pavithra is a musical tambola where listeners can sms the station and acquire a ticket comprising of a list of six songs. While the RJ plays the first six songs on-air, listeners can tick off the song from their ticket. The winners of top two, four and full house stand a chance to win cash prizes and gold.

The musical show will be held on Mon-Fri from 6-7pm till 1 June. Only the songs played between this duration can be marked off the ticket.

94.3 Radio One national head – marketing Shyju Varkey said, “One of the reasons Radio One has grown the way it has is that we keep surprising listeners with ideas that keep them engaged and entertained. ‘Bollywood Bingo’ is a lovely idea, where we’ve married technology with radio. The listener is kept guessing about our music menu, and gets rewarded if what the software hands them matches the station’s playlist.  This should set a benchmark for listener interaction on radio, and we’re happy to be at the forefront of raising the bar for the medium.”
