Radio Misty partners Siliguri Food and Tourism festival

MUMBAI: Radio Misty 94.3 FM, the first and Number one fm station of North Bengal have teamed up with Siliguri food festival committee to organise the fifth Food and Tourism Festival will be held at Kanchenjunga Stadium at Siliguri from 9 to 13 January. This festival draws huge crowd from all over region. Various competitions are held during this event.

Beside cooking competition there will be Rasogolla and Momo eating competitions. A special feature of the competition will be the pitha (sweet)-making event. The organisers have invited participants from various parts of the country to introduce ethnic cuisine here. Various self help groups will also participate in this event. Stalls from Tourism sector will be major attraction in this event. Tourists visiting Sikkim and Darjeeling also come to be part of this event.

The festival witnessed crowds from all over the region. Various competitions were held during the event, which is the largest food festival of the region. The four-day event was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Suraj Pathak, and the closing ceremony was graced by West Bengal Urban Development Minister Asok Bhattacharya.

Besides cooking competitions, there were Rasogolla- and Momo-eating contests. A special feature of the competition was the Pitha (sweet)-making event. Participants from various parts of the country were invited to introduce ethnic cuisine, and several self-help groups also participated in the event. Stalls from the tourism sector were a big attraction at the event.
