MUMBAI: In its endeavor to promote on-ground music activities, Radio Mirchi has tied with band Agnee to hunt for local aspiring singers nationwide and give them their place in the limelight with the first of its kind on-ground reality show for radio titled �Generation A-Star Mirchi Create with Agnee'.

The hunt will is spread over three phases where in the aspiring candidates have to sing �Kaise ho tum' and �Jee Lay Abhi', the two new tracks launched by Agnee or any other song previously sung by the band. The first round of screening will take place in seven cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Pune. Forty contestants will be chosen from the first round by Mirchi RJs post which Agnee will shortlist four most promising singers from each city who will prove their mettle in live concerts with Agnee. Interested candidates can also send in the enteries on www.agneelive.com or www.radiomirchi.com as well as through mobile phones. The entries can be submitted till 24 June.

Agnee will tour the following cities where grand city finales will be held and one winner will be selected from each city – Kolkata will host it on 5 June, Delhi on 9 June, Ahmedabad on 13 June, Hyderabad on 16 June, Bengaluru on 19 June, Mumbai will host it on 22 June and Pune on 24 June. The eight selected singers will then compete for the Grand Finale to be held on 10 July in Mumbai. Each finalist will get the opportunity of showcasing their talent individually.

One Male singer and one female singer will be the chosen winners who will be groomed and honed by Agnee and they would also get to record and sing live with the band itself. Also, the winners will get an opportunity to sing in a playback score, composed by Agnee for a forthcoming Bollywood film �Gulaab Gang'.

The campaign was flagged of at Hard Rock Caf?© on 27 May, while Agnee along with Shilpa Rao and Anushka Manchanda entertained the audience.

Talking about the Create with Agnee initiative, members of the band Mohan and Koco said, We're very excited about the biggest Create with Agnee initiative yet. We're always looking to involve our fans and listeners in every aspect of our music, and after the astounding success our first lyricists' contest with the Splitsvilla theme song, we're now taking it to the next level by asking singers to join us on stage and sing with us. We're also very happy that super singers Anushka and Shilpa have joined us to give our new songs their fantastic voices and personalities. With the kind of renditions they've given, it'll be tough for the contestants to try and replicate them, but we're in a country of singers and we're sure we'll meet some super talent on this tour.
