Radio Mirchi, Lalit Pandit launch Cricket anthem on Sunset Samosa

MUMBAI: To cheer the Indian Cricket Team in ICC World Cup 2011, composer Lalit Pandit launched a World Cup song, Come On India, Let's Go India, on Friday on Radio  Mirchi's show Sunset Samosa with RJs Suren and Meera. He was accompanied by singer Makarand Patankar, who has sung the song written by Kunwar Juneja.

In an exclusive chat with RadioAndMusic.com, Pandit said, I have launched a new singer in Hindi music with this song. Makrand is a very talented singer, who has sung this high spirited and lively song extremely well.... Speaking about the anthem itself, Pandit said, I am confident that everyone, from our cricketers to their fans,  will feel energised when they hear this song. The lyrics of the song are:

Manzil Pe Nazar, Hathon Main Hunar,

Maidan Main Agar Hum Aa Jayein,

Toofaan Wahin  Ruk Jaata Hai,

Chhakkon Ki Barrish Hoti Hai,

Chaukon Ka ZalZala Attaa Hai

Jeetna Hai  Jeetna Hai,  Jetenge

Come On India, Let's go India,

Chal Chal India!...

Pandit said, These lyrics will drive the viewers to cheer for the Indian cricket team....

Pandit, who has produced  the song and its video -- both of which are receiving extensive  airplay – hopes to align with the telcos for VAS and CRBT platform-support for them.

On why he chose to launch the song on Radio  Mirchi, Pandit said, Mirchi operates in 32 cities and thus the song will be heard all over India. We also have a video for the song, and it is a tribute to Sachin Tendulkar and to the undying passion of our Team India....

Makarand Patankar said on Sunset Samosa, Lalitji had heard me at a show in Pune and this is how I got the opportunity to work with such a great composer. He wanted a powerful voice for the song and I had to do a number of rehearsals before the actual recording....
