Radio City announces season 4 of talent hunt 'Super Singer'

MUMBAI: Radio City is back with the fourth edition of 'Radio City Super Singer' to search for the best musical talent across 20 cities of the country.

This year the hunt is expanded to 20 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Baroda, Surat, Ahmednagar, Nagpur, Vizag, Coimbatore, Sangli, Solapur and Jalgaon. The talent hunt will be judged by veterans of the music industry including Javed Ali and Neeraj Shridhar.

The auditions that commenced recently will be followed by two levels of competition, culminating into the grand finale on 15-16 September.  The short listed contestants in all the cities stand a chance to win the 'Radio City Super Singer' title, cash prize upto Rs one lakh and a TVS scooty.

Apart from the conventional audition options, the season will also witness auditions through station's facebook pages and website PlanetRadioCity. Participants can record or upload their entries on the page and website.
 
Radio City CEO Apurva Purohit said, " 'Radio City Super Singer' has grown significantly over the last four years to become a launch-pad for aspiring singers coming from different parts of the country. It is a moment of pride for us at Radio City, as we bring this opportunity for all our listeners across all 20 stations this year. 'Radio City Super Singer' promises to bring out the latest talent across the country. We will activate multiple platforms like radio, digital and our activation arm, Radio City Connect, to aid the singers who manage to make a mark in Radio City Super Singer."

Renowned singer Javed Ali said, "Radio City Super Singer is unique in its space as this contest places significant importance for the search of an 'original' voice. As a judge this season, I am specifically looking for a versatile singer who would be crowned with the title of 'Radio City Super Singer – 2012'. I look forward to a fantastic journey this season and good wishes to all the contestants who are participating."
