Pt Jasraj, Hariprasad Chaurasia to perform at 35th Sangeet Sammelan

MUMBAI: Indian classical music stalwarts such as Pandit Jasraj, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Amaan Ali Khan and others will come together on one platform at the three-day traditional music fest �Gunidas Sangeet Sammelan' starting from 1 December 2011 in Mumbai.

The annual classical music fest has enroped in scholars and genius of Hindustani classical music.  Grammy Award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt will commence the festival which will be followed by Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademy award recipient vocalist Begum Parween Sultana.

Pandit Suhas, son of legendary vocalist & the founder of Sangeet Sammelan late Pandit CR Vyas and Bharat Ratna late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi son Shrinivas will also perform at the fest. Sammelan in its 35th year will conclude with a vocal recital by Padma Vibhushan Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj.

Sangeet Sammelan founder & eminent santoor maestro Satish Vyas said, It has always been the endeavour of the trustees of MLKN to promote Hindustani Classical tradition by expanding the audience and bringing to fore newer talents. Our aim is to create music lovers and not cult worshippers, as normally happens with western music....


1 Dec - Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Begum Parween Sultana.

2 Dec – Pandit Suhas Vyas and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.

3 Dec - Shrinivas Joshi, Amaan Ali Khan and Pandit Jasraj.
