Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia to perform at 11th Swaranjali Music Festival

MUMBAI: Legendary Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia will perform at the �11th Swaranjali Music Festival' to be held from 13 January at Nehru centre.

The three day music festival is a tribute to late hindustani vocalist Pt. Suresh Haldankar, Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki and Pt. C. R. Vyas.

The annual classical fest will be commenced by Ustad Rashid Khan which will be followed by the jugalbhandi of Pt. Balmurali Krishnan and Pt. Ronu Muzumdar. Veteran vocalists Perveen Sultana and vocalist Jayteerth Muvendi will also perform at the event. The festival will conclude with the vocal recital of classical duo Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra.

The organizer of the fest (Swaraprabha Charitable Trust) Amit Karekar said, Swaranjali is shradhanjali or reverence to the Swars, the musical notes, in honour of the three great doyens of Hindustani classical music. Besides their brilliant performances, their contribution is immense for they trained and guided several classical vocalists to carry on the great India musical tradition....
