Pritam Da is my mentor: Zindagi 50-50 debutant Vivek Kar

MUMBAI: Upcoming music composer Vivek Kar has started his journey with Veena Malik’s Zindagi 50-50.

Out of the six tracks, three are composed by Kar and the rest by Amjad-Nadeem. For Kar, renowned Pritam Chakraborty has been his mentor and inspiration. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Kar said, “I know Pritam since four years. He is like a mentor to me and more like a brother. He has guided me with my work always and helped me with his feedbacks.”

Bappi Lahiri has rendered the title song in the film, Kar said, “I got Bappi Da to sing for my first film and I was hesitant about the fact that he will be singing for me, but Pritam got Bappi Da ready for it. With Pritam’s help and support I was able to get many singers to sing for my project.”

He added, “It’s quite difficult to describe in words when I got my first cheque as I felt I was in heaven. I have no idea what I would have done if there was no music in my life.” Currently, Kar has composed for five upcoming movies with four as a solo composer.

Zindagi 50-50 is directed by Rajiv Ruia and is made under the banner of Ramgopal films & Spotlight Productions. The film starring Veena Malik, Aarya Babbar, Riya Sen,Rajpal Yadav and Rajan Verma, is slated to release on 22 March.
