PDM gets Brazil`s Sepultura to launch new music property

MUMBAI: Percept D`Mark will soon launch a festival, Metalfest, to give an impetus to the rock and heavy metal bands in the country.

PDM`s new property is getting in international metal band Sepultura to India for the fest that will be held at New Delhi on 28 October, at Shillong on 31 October and in Bangalore on 3 November 2007.

Sepultura, according to Percept, is an immensely popular band in the metal genre with a huge fanatic fan base in India. Sepultura hail from Sao Paolo, Brazil, are over two decades old and have 12 studio albums under their belt.Says PDM India CEO, Devraj Sanyal, who is also the frontman of leading Indian metal band "Brahma", "We`ve noticed that this area of music of heavy metal has been ignored for a long time though in recent times with concerts of Iron Maiden and the like have proved themselves to be larger crowd pullers, multiples of what the Hip hop and pop artists have been able to draw. The demographic that we are going after in the age groups of 18-30 is a very focused spender with a great sense of brand preference and a substantial ability to spend some serious monies."
