Ormax Media appoints Venugopal Bhamidipati as insights head

MUMBAI: Ormax Media, the media research and consulting firm, has appointed Venugopal Bhamidipati as insights head- print, radio and branded entertainment.

In his new role Bhamidipati will be responsible to deliver insights for clients across radio, print and branded entertainment, which involves work on sponsorship evaluation including their IPL study Ormax Trac20. He will handle all the syndicated and customized research, including existing products like Ormax Mpact and Ormax Trac20. He will also be responsible for creating new products for these domains, based on industry needs.

Bhamidipati will report to Ormax Media CEO Shailesh Kapoor and will be based out of Mumbai.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Kapoor said, “Like television and films, we plan to grow our print and radio work by adding new products to our mix. We already have Ormax Heartbeats being used actively by radio stations. We conduct various types of researches for radio, including music testing, listenership tracks and brand tracks using our proprietary product Ormax Brand Matrix. We recently conducted our annual RJ Popularity Track in eight cities."

On the appointment he added, "We have several ideas for pioneering creative research in the radio industry, and Venugopal Bhamidipati will contribute to them and take them forward.”

Prior to this appointment, Bhamidipati was strategic planning director at Publicis Capital.

With over eight years of experience, he  has also worked at Maxus, IMRB International, The Nielsen Company and Hansa Research Group.
