One Direction named as UK's richest band
MUMBAI: Boy band One Direction has been declared as Britain's richest boy band with a combined wealth of ?25 million.
One Direction, former contestants of ‘The X Factor’ UK, clinched the top slot at the Sunday Times Rich List 2013.
The boy band pipped JLS band who took second position with a combined wealth of approximately ?24 million.
Former Beatle Paul McCartney easily seized the top spot in the musician's category with ?680 million.
Oscar-winning singer Adele grabbed the top spot in the Young Musician Rich List (aged 30 and under) with a fortune of ?30 million and Cheryl Cole managed the second spot in the same category with ?14 million. Leona Lewis and Katie Melua shared third place with a wealth of ?12 million.
