Norah Jones to grace India in 2013

MUMBAI: Expanding the list of international artistes performing in India, singer-songwriter Norah Jones is all set to perform in the country for the first time early next year.

The Grammy award winning singer and pianist will headline Only Much Louder's new music festival 'Summer's Day' in Mumbai. Jones will perform along with her band at the fest especially designed for women which will commence by early March 2013.

Confirming the news on twitter, OML CEO Vijay Nair tweeted, “A Summer's Day is our new festival which will be headlined by @NorahJones. Norah is touring Asia at the same time. And yes, we are glad she will be headlining the festival which is especially designed for women. She has her signature style - not many artistes can claim of having one. And she is one of the best live acts to watch."

Daughter of noted Indian sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar and half-sister of sitarist Anoushka Shankar, Jones has won nine Grammy Awards and was Billboard magazine's 60th-best-selling music artist of the 2000–2009 decade. Jones has won numerous awards and has sold 50 million albums worldwide. Jones has also acted in films and television series like My Blueberry Nights and 30 Rock amongst others.

The unique musical-travelogue 'The Dewarists' launched by OML last year, is also all set to make a comeback in its second season. The event promoter is also said to air an all new fiction show 'Bring on the Night' directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy of the music band Scribe and a pre-weekender party for dogs in Delhi.
