MUMBAI: After performing at NYC's Roseland Ballroom concert despite restraining orders, rapper Nicki Minaj had to cancel her appearance at this weekend's V Festival in the United Kingdom because of damage vocal cords.
The rapper’s performance at NYC concert caused further strain on her already bruised vocals. Her representative said in an e-mail statement that Minaj performed a free concert in New York City on 17 August although she had been advised by her doctor to rest.
“She performed on a bruised vocal as a result [of that performance], the [cord] has gotten worse. After her most recent x-ray the doctor advises she rests her voice for few more days," the rep added.
The V Festival was a two-day event held on 18 -19 August at the Hylands Park and Weston Park in London. The event witnessed performances by renowned artistes like The Killers, David Guetta, LMFAO, Ed Sheeran and 90’s rock band The Stone Roses.
