New label Swiss Music launches, plans to invest Rs 60 mn

MUMBAI: A new music company, Swiss Music released its debut album 'Dard bolta hai- Sun zara' at its launch in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The event was graced by veteran composer Ravindra Jain, who launched the company's first album featuring new singer Rahul Verma.

Swiss Music general manager Ranjeet Singh told Radioandmusic.com,"We have big plans for the year ahead. An investment of Rs 60 million is planned for the year, out of which Rs 26 million would be spend on publicity and rest in buying rights and in production. We have also thought to promote spiritual and classical genre as we expand."

The company is thinking of picking up and promoting new talent completely. Adds CEO S R Nandan,"Talent is what we seek, no matter from which corner it is. Talent which otherwise may not get opportunity."

Singh, a music industry veteran, has earlier worked with Tips and Polygram. Swiss Music has plans to rope in music rights of big films too. A source in the company said that talks are on with a film starring Ajay Devgan. The company is in the process of tie ups with retail stores like Planet M, Rhythm House, Music World and others across country for the distribution.
