Nabhojit Kuila quits Indigo, station to restructure core team

MUMBAI: Radio Indigo national sales director Nabhojit Kuila has resigned and would be quitting the organisation by the end of October.

The FM station, a venture of Jupiter Media, has been without an operations head since Jayyant Bokhare resigned in March this year.

Confirming the development, Radio Indigo managing director Sanjay Prabhu says, Nabhojit Kuila has put in his papers and is serving his notice period till this month end. We are in the process of identifying professionals from other media sectors to head sales for Radio Indigo and would be filling the post in by November....

After  Bokhare quit in March this year, Kuila oversaw the head of operations portfolio, apart from being the national sales director. Prabhu confirms, With Kuila's exit, we would be appointing a professional from the radio industry to head our operations. Apart from that, we would be making an appointment for the post of programming head and are on a look out for a professional with an expertise in differential content and programming followed by Radio Indigo....

The station owing to its differential positioning of playing English music, cannot poach from rival stations which play vernacular music. Radio Indigo programming head Geoffrey Thomas quit in June this year to join Muthoot Group's FM radio venture Chennai Live as Chief programming officer.

Prabhu confirms that all the new appointees would be joining Radio Indigo in November and the station would be firming up its programming with the new team in place.

Kuila, who has been with Radio Indigo since its inception in 2006, has been responsible for much of the commercial success of Radio Indigo. He would be moving to Delhi to join a leading digital media company. I would be joining the digital media company in November as the national sales manager. I came from a digital media background, prior to radio, and would be returning to the medium.... Kuila was the head of south business for indiatimes.com prior to his stint with Radio Indigo.
