MY FM launches 'Jiyo Dil Se' awards

MUMBAI: Recognizing and acknowledging the achievements and contributions of the common man, MY FM has initiated the ‘Jiyo Dil Se’ awards across its seven markets aiming to bring about a positive change in the lives of people across various fields.

The awards will be conferred in nine categories including Education, Environment Conservation, Health and Sanitation, Public Service, Culture and Art, Sports, Women Welfare and Empowerment, Child Care and Development and Economic Development.

Participants can apply for the award in the respective categories by downloading a form on the station’s website. The forms will have to be submitted to the network in the respective cities before 29 December 2012.  The winners in each category will be selected on the basis of public votes, listener votes and a jury which will comprise of experts in the fields.

The individuals applying for the award will be judged on various parameters like innovation in their initiatives, the impact they created, scalability and sustainability of the initiative and the challenges faced while executing the initiative.

The network has signed Ernst & Young as the official tabulations for the awards, who will assist the channel in the selection criteria and identifying winners in each category. The initiative will be promoted through a multimedia campaign resonating across radio, print and online.

Speaking on the initiative, MY FM CEO Harrish M Bhatia said, “We are proud to announce the ‘Jiyo Dil Se’ awards as it takes further our brand’s belief that every individual or entity should also give back to the society in which it dwells. ‘Jiyo Dil Se Awards’ is an effort to recognize the individual who has showcased immense dedication and passion for a cause bringing about a difference in peoples’ lives.”

The awards will cover the seven markets of Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Haryana. The grand finale is slated to be held in February 2013. Being the first year of the initiative, the channel also aims to work closely with the winners to create an ecosystem of social harmony and awareness in the society.

Further adding to their list of unique initiatives, the channel has also organized a special contest for the date 12/12/12 across its stations. The channel will play around 12 songs every hour throughout the day and listeners will have to count the total number of songs played. If the listener manages to catch the hour where a total of 12 songs were not played, they stand a chance to win a cash prize of Rs 12 lakhs.
