MUMBAI: Music Today is to celebrate the launch of `Mystic Soundscapes - Forest` by percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, a sequel to the Soundscape series with a concert on 30 June 2007 in Delhi. The event will also see Geetika Varde Qureshi performing from her album `Rooh - Songs from the Heart` "Music Today is proud to be associated with Taufiq Qureshi and Geetika Varde Qureshi, two great performers and artistes of today. While Geetika rules our heart with her beautiful voice, Taufiq makes us swing to his awesome sounds. The five albums in this series include Mystic Soundscapes - Wind, Mystic Soundscapes - Mountain, Mystic Soundscapes - Forest, Mystic Soundscapes - H2O and Mystic Dunes. All the albums in this series are rendered in an avant garde style by contemporary maestros Taufiq Qureshi, Rakesh Chaurasia, Amaan Ali Khan, Ayaan Ali Khan and Rahul Sharma.

Forest is a brilliant World music album that takes its listeners into a mystical experience of being transported into the natural, supernatural and spiritual realm of the forest. The album is a mixed fare of soft music with mesmerising hymns as well as the wild uproar of the forest like the tussle between the hunter and the hunted, and lots more. Every track carries its distinct flavour and yet retains the common thread of passionate fury that this album killingly promises! The concept of this album is a day`s journey in a forest. It could be a forest in any part of the World. It is as if one is spending a day in a forest.
