MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi has held on its lead in Kolkata and Delhi, ahead of competitors, and has gained considerably in Mumbai to come a close second behind leader Red FM. In Bangalore, even though Mirchi comes second, leader Big FM stayed ahead in the game with a lead of almost four per cent, according to Ram data just out for week 22.
Bangalore:
Big FM led the pack with a market share of 20.5 per cent, despite having lost 0.5 percentage points over the earlier week. Radio Mirchi, which gained 1.7 percentage points over week 21, still trailed a poor second with a market share of 17.3 per cent. Fever, which has been making inroads with innovative programming, slipped to third position with a market share of 13.3 per cent, having lost 1.6 percentage points. All India Radio's Rainbow FM station, with a 12.4 per cent market share, stood fourth, above Radio City, Radio One and SFM.
Delhi:
Radio Mirchi continued to hold its lead in this market, with a market share of 24.2 per cent, having gained 0.6 percentage points, maintaining a strong lead over Fever, which came in second with a market share of 17 per cent, a gain of 1.2 percentage points over the previous week. AIR's FM Gold station came a close third with a share of 16.8 per cent, having gained 0.9 percentage points. Other strong contenders Radio City, Red FM, Big FM and Radio One trailed by a large margin behind the top three.
Kolkata:
Radio Mirchi kept up the lead in Kolkata too with a market share of 19.7 per cent, having gained 1.5 percentage points. Big FM came a distant second with a share of 15.3 per cent, having gained 0.1 percentage points. Friends came in third with a share of 11.9 per cent, having lost 0.1 percentage points.

Fever has not been able to sustain the lead it had scored in previous weeks, and Red FM has taken up the top spot again, with a share of 15.5 per cent, despite having lost 0.3 percentage points. Radio Mirchi came in a close second with a share of 15.3 per cent, having gained 0.1 percentage points. AIR's FM Gold came in third with a share of 14.1 per cent, a gain of 1.2 percentage points. Big, Fever, Radio City and Radio One all trailed AIR's Gold FM, with only Fever marking an increase of 0.1 percentage points over the previous week.
