Microsoft strikes deal with Samsung Electronics

MUMBAI: After signing licensing agreements with leading android makers like Acer Inc and HTC Corp, Microsoft has signed another deal with google's largest manufacturing partner, Samsung Electronics Corp.

According to deal, Microsoft and Samsung Electronics have agreed to cross-license each other's patent portfolios, with Microsoft getting royalties on the sales of Samsung's android based mobile phones and tablets.

The two companies will also work together to develop a market for Microsoft's Windows Phone7 development software. The companies haven't disclosed the financial terms of the deal.

This agreement marks the seventh android licensing deal of Microsoft in the past three months.
