MUMBAI: The nationwide band hunt for Metallica concert has finally come to an end. The lucky winners of the contest 'Still Waters' - Gangtok based band and 'Guillotine', progressive metal band from New Delhi will headline the opening act for Metallica on 28 October in Gurgaon.
Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, MTV India business head Aditya Swamy said, It's really great to see such a mind blowing quality of raw talent on one platform. It's once in life timing opportunity for the young and budding bands to share stage with the legends. The bands will be excited to share platform and I think Metallica will be equally enthusiastic to see this young talent from India....
Talenthouse India in association with MTV and VH1 kickstarted the 'Taking Pole Position' competition to hunt for the bands that will open for Metallica. Over 250 participants uploaded/mailed their video link to the channel for the elimination round. Eight bands were nominated for four-part TV show on MTV, who further competed for the title. The winners were declared by jury comprising of Anushka Manchanda, Nitin Malik, Clinton Cerejo, Ehsaan Noorani and Dhruv Ghanekar.
