Magic of Mozart's opera to alight Delhi

MUMBAI: As a treat for western classical music lovers, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will present a vast repertoire of world's prolific composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart  concert in Delhi.

The three day concert �Mozart Magic in India' will kick start on 6 January at Central Park and 7-8 January at Siri Fort Auditorium. The concert will include pieces from Mozart's famous operas - The Magic Flute, Idomeneo, Cosi Fan Tutte and the Marriage of Figaro.

The concert in collaboration with Neemrana Music Foundation will feature 19 musicians from the Rouen Opera House (France), 26 musician from the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and 40 singers from the Neemrana Music Foundation. The orchestra will also include a choir conductor from Russia, conductor from United States and voice coach from New Zealand.

"The performance at Siri Fort is expected to be a tremendous show with costumes and stage direction, featuring 40 musicians, 40 choir singers, and 12 solo singers. For the first time, it will have Indian solo singers intensively trained in France for the performance," stated the ICCR release.

The concert is supported by the Embassy of France in India and the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre. ICCR has also planned a concert on 11 January at Brahmaputra in Guwahati.
