Lily Allen returns to stage

MUMBAI: Three years after taking a bow from the music industry, British pop singer Lily Allen has announced her return with a new recording title.

The singer who has sold over eight million records stated on her Twitter page that she is back in the studio and is working with American producer Greg Kurtsin with whom she co-wrote the 2009 award-winning chart-topper ‘The Fear’.

The singer is also composing and recording tracks for the upcoming Bridget Jones Diary stage musical.

Allen who landed her first number one single with ‘Smile’ in 2006, said she was disillusioned with the music industry and blamed illegal file-sharing for making it impossible for new artists to earn a living.

Allen released her second album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ in 2009, which was produced by Greg Kurstin. Her last performance was at Wembley Stadium in September 2010.
