Legendary Swedish Jazz Bands to perform in India

MUMBAI: For the first time legendary Swedish Bands, Jan Lundgren Trio and Grammy award winning Tonbruket will perform a live jazz concert in India.

The concert will be held on Wednesday 7 December at Bandra, Amphitheatre in Mumbai.

Jan Lundgren Trio will perform a unique jazz act including the classics from popular Swedish jazz album - European Standards, Landscapes, Plays The Music Of Jule Styne and others.  While Tonbruket will perform songs from their album Dig it to the End, Trackpounder, Lighthouse, Vinegar Heart (inspired by Indian writer Arundhati Roy´s novel â€?The God of Small Things'), Grandma's Haze and many more.

Tonbruket said,"We think this is a unique chance to come to a continent many of us never visited and it's really thrilling to try our music here and see how it's received. We are looking forward to meet our Indian fans and we promise them a journey through many moods, grooves and musical colours....

Tonbruket admires Indian classical music and are really keen to meet some of virtuosos. Further adding, Tonbruket stated, Since our band loves traditional Indian music and are admirers of the sitar and tablas virtouses, it would be amazing to meet some musicians and  jam with them!...

Tonbruket includes Bassist Dan Berglund, guitarist Johan Lindstr?¶m, pianist Martin Hederos and drummer Andreas Werliin. The band is known for their musical niche combination of instrumental Prog-Rock with improvisational elements.

Jan Lundgren Trio comprises of Jan Lundgren (pianist), Mattias Svensson (bass) and Dane Morten Lund (drums) is widely known for constant innovation in their music.
